James E. Boone is Managing Partner for Nosal Partners’ Atlanta office.
With more than 20 years executive search experience, Mr. Boone specializes in placing senior-level executive leadership. In 2003, Mr. Boone founded Windship Partners, a highly specialized executive search firm focusing exclusively on founder transition, board development and senior executive placement in the technology, financial, industrial and professional services markets.
Also prior to joining Nosal Partners, Mr. Boone held key executive leadership positions at Korn/Ferry International. As Chairman of the firm’s Global Operating Committee, he drove Korn/Ferry’s strategy and daily operations at the global level. During his tenure as President of the Americas Region, which represented approximately 70 percent of the company’s global operations, Mr. Boone had oversight of 1,100 employees in 34 offices and led the firm to record revenue — nearly $400 million in his region.
Before joining Korn/Ferry, Mr. Boone was Senior Executive Search Partner and a member of the Global Executive Committee at Heidrick & Struggles. Before his career in executive search, Mr. Boone was an executive with Digital Equipment Corporation and Honeywell, Inc. His experiences in corporate America helped to shape his philosophy about the critical role of senior leadership and qualities of a successful executive.
Mr. Boone graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisville, and he completed post-graduate studies at Harvard Business School’s Executive Management Program. Mr. Boone has received a notable amount of media attention as a result of his expertise in executive search and corporate leadership. He has been quoted in various distinguished business publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and Forbes, and has appeared on ABC and CBS News, CNN and NPR.
Mr. Boone is personally and professionally committed to community outreach and civic service. He sits and has served on various advisory boards, including The Technology Association of Georgia, OnSite Recruiting Solutions, Henry W. Grady Health System Foundation and the University of Louisville College of Business and Public Administration.
