Michael D. Getchell is managing partner of the São Paulo office of Nosal Partners LLC, where he conducts senior-level assignments on behalf of clients across a broad range of industries, with a particular emphasis on consumer and advanced technology companies. He also drives cross-border projects for multi-national clients with executive talent requirements in the United States and Latin America.
An Americas region specialist, Mr. Getchell has worked and lived extensively in the United States, Mexico and Brazil during his 22-year career. Prior to joining Nosal Partners, Mr. Getchell served as General Manager for the São Paulo office of Tasa Brazil — a privately-held human capital services company. He was previously a client partner in the São Paulo office of Korn/Ferry International, where he held positions of increasing responsibility in executive search and operations during his eight year tenure with the company.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Getchell held a variety of positions in business developing, licensing and marketing for the consumer goods company Umbro International in Brazil, as well as the United States. He began his career as an educator — first as a Montessori teacher, then as an English as a Second Language Teacher, and later as a professor of American Government at the University of Monterrey in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Mr. Getchell holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of California in Los Angeles and an MBA through the joint degree program from Business School São Paulo and the University of Toronto. Mr. Getchell speaks native English and Portuguese and is fluent in Spanish.
